Career Program

Chicago Tech strives to help each student build a rewarding, successful, exciting career in a field of their interest. Since technology cuts across virtually every sector in our economy, our students will graduate ready to lead and innovate in any industry they choose.

Chicago Tech's career program includes a variety of work-based learning experiences:

  • Technology Curriculum: By the end of ninth grade, CAAT students can code basic websites and applications.

  • Field trips: Students visited over 25 high-tech destinations last year, including Cisco Systems, the Daley Center, Microsoft, and the Illinois IT Association.

  • Mentoring: Starting in Fall 2010, each of our sophomores will be paired with a professional mentor to work with over the next three years.

  • Networking: A select group of freshman were invited to attend CompTIA's board meeting, where they presented on their experiences and met accomplished tech executives.

  • Work experience: Our career program links students with real work experience through internships, job shadowing, and work-based projects.

  • Guest lectures: Students love hearing stories from seasoned professionals. Last year's speaker list included Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer.
